Another 100-car order was placed by Pittsburgh Railways Co. to St.Louis Car Co. in May 1941. They were shipped to the Steel City between February and May 1942. These cars had a modified windshield and blinker doors design, a motorman's air vent was added to the dasher. Cars 1400-1474 were WH-equipped and cars 1475-1499 were fitted with GE equippment. A number of 1400-series cars were decorated as advertising cars for route 22-CROSSTOWN. Last 1400s were withdrawn from service in 1967.
