In 1955-56 eight PCC Rapid transit cars of original batch (6123-6130) were equipped with trolley poles. These cars operated on all-third-rail routes and trolley poles were removed between 1958 and 1960 but on cars 6129/6130 they were restored in 1964 and used until 1974.
