In 1971 the SNCV sold 18 S-type interurban cars to Ferrocarriles Espanoles de Via Estrecha (FEVA) company in Valencia. Six cars were demotorized by SNCV before delivery to Spain, because they should be used as trailers in the 3-car sets. The cars were converted to 600V operation and were renumbered to 3401-3412 series (motor cars) and 6401-6406 series (trailers). At total, six 3-car trains were formed and they were put in operation to the north branch of the system in July 1972. The sets were painted in the attractive FEVE blue & silver colors. They were very popular in Valencia, known here as 'Fabiolos' (by name of Queen Fabiola of Belgium, of Spanish origin). In 1981 the FEVE company acquired 12 more ex-Vicinal cars from Ferrocarriles del Carreno which increased the number of sets up to 10. Between 1984 and 1986 they were rebuilt by Macosa company and remained in service until 90s.
