The Compania del Ferrocarril de Carreno operated a narrow gauge line between Gijon and Aviles, on the north coast of Spain. Initially the line was built to transport the minerales, but the passenger service was also introduced. By early 1960s, the company needed a new equipment and four S-type cars were obtained from Vicinal (cars 9649, 9654, 9659 and 9668 from Antwerp group). The never were repainted but additional pantograph was installed. In 1966 the SNCV sold to Gijon S-type car 10070, two former N-type car 10425 and 10447, converted to S specification and a number of N-type cars converted to trailers, which allowed the company to operate a 3-car trains on a very scenic rural line. In January 1974 the company was integrated to F.E.V.E group, which already operated ex-Vicinal cars, delivered in 1972. In 1981 the remaining Gijon's cars were transferred to Valencia.
