The last new buses acquired by New York City Omnibus Corporation were 360 35-foot GM TDH-4509 coaches, received between March 1949 and August 1951. They were numbered 2737-3096 and saw service mostly along the longer avenue runs. The most famous among them were coaches 2969 (TV star Ralph Kramden drove it along Route 1 in The Honeymooners, 1955) and 2930 (North by Northwest, 1959, where Alfred Hitchcock just misses catching his bus in a short scene at Madison Avenue). After the discovery of a structural weakness in some of New York City's 500 TDH 4510's, the width of the single passenger window just forward of the rear door was narrowed to to accommodate additional vertical supports placed immediately forward of both the emergency and rear doors, so there was a difference in window design on the coaches delivered after December 1950. From June 1956, the new company's name, Fifth Avenue Coach Lines was printed on the buses below the windows.
