Starting from 1959, the Tokyo Metropolitan Transport Bureau adopted new simplified cream livery with dark red band (as on 5500-series cars) for tram and bus fleet. In 1964/65 this paint scheme was dropped in favour of new yellow color, but Tokyo buses remained in this cream color much longer than trams.
