In March 1958 the Los Angeles Metropolitan Transit Authority (LAMTA) took over all operations of LATL and Metropolitan Coach Lines. The new two-tone green livery with white roof was applied on 37 of the P-3 class cars (only cars 3137, 3146 and 3156 remained in the LATL livery until the end). In the latest years, the rubber-mounted windshields had been installed on all of the P-3s. All P-3 class cars were sold to Cairo, Egypt with the exception of the car 3165 which was preserved at the Orange Empire Railway Museum.
