PCC 1170 was the first MUNI streetcar painted in the Walter Landor-designed Sunset Glow orange/California Poppy Gold and white paint scheme. The initial livery was modified later by increasing the size of the orange bands beneath the windows. At total, 28 cars of 1100-series received this new MUNI paint scheme and retained it until Summer 1982. This version has replacement home-made wooden imitation 'blinker' doors.
