In 1966 the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority adopted a color coding system for the rail services and starting from 1971 began painting the streetcars to correspond with those colors; ex-Dallas PCC, used on Green Line routes received a new paint scheme of green and white with grey roof. Last Green Line ex-Dallas PCC were retired in 1978.
