In early 1950s PTC started to paint their PCC cars in the simplified green and cream livery with maroon stripe but with all-cream roof, which was so familiar for Philadelphia for many years. In 1954 conductor booth were removed from cars 2624 to 2680 and then conversion of the 2581-2680 series cars to one-man operation has been carried out slowly.
