Pullman-Standard started the construction of PCC cars with an order for 40 cars for Baltimore Transit Co. They were delivered early in May 1939 and numbered 7023-7033 (with GE equipment) and 7306-7334 (with Westinghouse equipment). They were assigned to 8 Towson-Catonsville line. In 1940 a large modernization program was announced by BTC and between 1940 and 1942 133 PCCs were acquired from Pullman. They were numbered 7034-7097 (GE) and 7335-7403 (WH). In 1945 National City Lines acquired the Baltimore Transit and on June 23, 1955 the plan to all-bus conversion was announced. The streetcar service was ended at November 3, 1963.
