In 1945 Chicago Surface Lines repainted six '1936 PCC cars in the exprerimental paint schemes in an effort to determine the best colors to be used on the post-war PCCs. Different colors were used together with Art Deco striping and these six PCC cars were a very colorful sight on the Chicago streets. Car 4050 was outshopped by Chicago Surface Lines on 1st December 1945 and was finished in the Coronado Tan color. This car had a later bigger version of the St.Louis Car Co. trolley cowl.
