The trolleybus system in the Kawasaki (located between Tokyo and Yokohama) was opened at 1st March 1951 with 3.64 km line between Komiyamae (near the Kawasaki Railway Station) and Sakuramoto. The system was started with trolleybuses of 100, 200 and 300-series, all delivered in 1951 and in 1954 the company placed the order to Fuji Heavy Industries for two more trolleybuses which were placed in service in January 1955. They were numbered 501 and 502 and were produced together with Tokyo order for 200-series trolleybuses, however they had some differences in details. These trolleybuses were painted out in the attractive Kawasaki livery of grey and maroon. In 1960 trolleybuses of 600 and 700-series were added to the roster and also old coaches of 100/200/300- series were rebodied in the 60s, however the 500-series was never rebodied. The Kawasaki system was closed at 1st May 1967 and the most modern trolleybuses of 700-series were sold to Yokohama.
