In March 1958 the Los Angeles Metropolitan Transit Authority (LAMTA) took over all operations of LATL and Metropolitan Coach Lines. LAMTA did maintain the trolley coaches in good order and repaint them in its new two-tone green and white livery. However, the trolley coach operation was closed in March 1963 and coaches of the 9000-series were sold to Mexico City.
