AC Transit took over the operations of Key System Transit Company on October 1, 1960. They started operations with 570 Key System buses, include White 788 & 798 buses, delivered in 1941-1948. Most of them were out of service soon, coach 1043 has been preserved and was restored in the full AC Transit livery.
