The trolley coach operation in the New Orleans was started at November 1930 and in 1942 the New Orleans Public Service placed an order with ACF-Brill for nine new trolley coaches to replace the original stock of 13 vehicles. This order was delivered in August-September 1945 and coaches were numbered 1213-1221. They arrived in the 'Art Deco' paint scheme, but they were repainted to the standard New Orleans trolley coach paint scheme soon. The ACF-Brills were put in service in March 1946, however no more trolley coach orders were placed to this company by NOPSI, all further coaches were delivered by St.Louis Car Co. and Marmon-Herrington.
