Akron Transportation Co. started trolleybus operation on November 12, 1941 with twelve Brills. In 1942 twenty Twin Coach Model 44GTT coaches were delivered (numbered 113-132) because riding was up almost 120% during the war years. Between 1945 and 1948 38 new ACF-Brills were delivered to the city; but the trolley coach lines were converted to diesel bus operation in 1958 and 1959 and the system was closed on June 6, 1959.
