In May 1941 Phildelphia Transportation Co. ordered 110 more two-man PCCs from St.-Louis Car Co. for use on routes 47 and 50. This group of cars was delivered between May and August 1942 beign numbered 2581-2680 (A-43 class). As one-man cars of the same order, they were painted in the new green paint scheme. Car 2603 of this series was the first scrapped PCC in Philadelphia (in June 1950 after the fire). During 1954, with cars 2624-2680 PTC started the conversion of two-man cars for one-man operation.
