After a success of the sample Brilliner car, delivered in 1938, an Atlantic City & Shore Railroad ordered 24 more Brilliners from J.G.Brill Co. in December 1939. These cars entered service in July 1940 on the Atlantic Ave. route. They arrived in new black, cream and silver livery and were numbered 6902-6925. Original Atlantic City Brilliner 6891 was renumbered 6901 at that time. Cars 6902-6925 had a full length anticlimbers, while original Brilliner was delivered with short anticlimbers.
