In mid-40s all silver PCC cars of 1940/41 delivery were repainted to new standard green & cream livery with gray roof and maroon striping, introduced on 1942 cars. In early 1950s, a number of simplified versions of this paint sceme were tried before the final variation with all-cream roof was introduced.
