In 1945 Chicago Surface Lines repainted six '1936 PCC cars in the exprerimental paint schemes in an effort to determine the best colors to be used on the post-war PCCs. Different colors were used together with Art Deco striping and these six PCC cars were a very colorful sight on the Chicago streets. Car 4018 was outshopped by Chicago Surface Lines on 14th November 1945 and its colors were most closest to the paint scheme adopted soon for 600 Chicago all-electric PCC cars.
